OurAccounts at CPA Conference
At the end of last month KND’s Chris and Jason headed down to the seaside town of Lorne, on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, for CPA Australia’s Public Practice Conference. Not with a view to retraining as accountants, but to showcase KND’s cloud-based document management system specifically for accountants, OurAccounts.
Around 400 accountants, mainly partners in their firms, attended the conference and around a third of these had a chance to have a look at OurAccounts in action. Feedback was very positive, with around 20 firms signing up to trial the system.
As we’ve discussed in a recent KND article on cloud computing, ‘the cloud’ provides a lot of functionality at a very affordable cost level. Based on KND’s flagship cloud product, ourdisk, OurAccounts is designed specifically for the document management needs of accounting firms.
Delegates at the conference were particularly impressed by how OurAccounts could help streamline their operations: firms using the system have access to inexpensive offsite data backup and the ability to send large MYOB and financial files quickly and easily. An added benefit is that the whole system can be embedded within a firm’s website and branded with the accounting firm’s logo and colours.
Although the program can be used by any size of firm, in practice it is the small to medium sized firms that are able to use OurAccounts to really drive efficiency within their businesses and compete with the larger firms.
After the conference, Jason and Chris were able to get some R&R (see photos) and caught up with the infamous Vito Rubino and other luminaries from the accounting world at the Lorne Hotel over a lot of oysters and possibly too much local wine.
